I find that sometimes just letting the materials used to dictate the design. I let lines break, continue or develop into further fracturing of additional lines. Color with objects that I use has an influence sometimes in how it relates to the design or aesthetic of the composition. When it comes to an abstract piece it takes on a life all its own without me trying to dictate what I want it to do.
